Being cat
Through all these years
Days and nights — in all places
Among all moments
And I —
What have I never stopped
Being
No shape, no name
Can I find
I have never ceased
To be —
Even as human —
Who can say
Is it not
Only I —
Being
Both cat — and I
Have never ceased —
Being
But what are words —
Just more sounds
Just as there will be
No cat
One day
There will be
No human
No I
No being
To know —
Cat or my
Being
Maybe even now —
Does a day
Itself — exist
For the cat
Is there — for me —
A day —
For being
I do not know
But I see —
The cat sitting
On the windowsill
Looking
As I sit —
Upon my seat
Looking
Could it be —
Both the cat
And I
Have always been
Nothing
But
The looking
